Uma das suas curiosidades mais famosas está no uso marcante do Talk Box, um dispositivo que permite “falar” através da guitarra ao direcionar o som dela para a boca do músico. Embora o efeito já existisse antes, Frampton o popularizou no rock. Ele utilizou o recurso de forma magistral em clássicos como Do You Feel Like We Do. O efeito se tornou sua marca registrada e inspirou inúmeros guitarristas nas décadas seguintes.
Um fato quase inacreditável envolve sua guitarra favorita, Ela foi considerada perdida após um acidente de avião em 1980, quando o cargueiro que transportava os equipamentos da banda caiu logo após decolar. Décadas depois, ela foi identificada por um colecionador e devolvida a Frampton em 2011. Batizada de “Phenix”, ela foi restaurada e voltou a ser usada nos palcos, tornando-se uma das histórias mais famosas do mundo das guitarras.
Nos anos 80, após uma queda de popularidade, ele recebeu novo impulso graças ao amigo de infância David Bowie, que o convidou para tocar em uma turnê, ajudando a recolocar Frampton no radar do público e da crítica como guitarrista de alto nível.
